After losing his father to the Covid-19 pandemic, Diego goes through a state of despair and resentment. His grieving mother tries to connect with him, but Diego only shuts her off, causing a strain in their relationship.
CUBAN - AMERICAN DOMESTICITY
The set pulls influences from Latin interior decoration with blues, greens, and oranges creating a space split between sickness and life.
GROWTH AND GREIF
The robot toy is a prop used to symbolize the broken relationship between Diego and his mother. A custom toy and corresponding posters were made to better incorporate the toy as an item that would belong in this universe.
